At their AGM in November, 2014 the West of Scotland Kart club pledged to help the North of Scotland Kart club in their quest for funds to help rebuild the sea defences at their circuit at Golspie. The club agreed that £2500 would be donated once there was some work in progress and that it was of a substantial nature.

The storms of past winters had gradually degraded the sea wall and a severe breach had occurred flooding the track and much of the lower levels of the buildings. Some valuable equipment had been lost.

Undaunted the club set too and many local people rallied round to help save this Kart and Sprint circuit set in the beautiful countryside of Sutherland. Their efforts resulted in the venue being operational very quickly and longer term plans were put in place to rebuild the sea wall.

After a recent visit from one of our committee members it was reported that robust repairs have been made to the breach. The WSKC committee were unanimous in the decision to release those funds and Bill McDonald, WSKC chairman presented the cheque for £2500 to Jay MacKay, chairman of NSKC at a recent meeting of the association of Scottish Kart clubs (pictured).
